Dr JOOP F.L.M. BRUKX (The |
Joop received his MSc. degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Doctor's degree in Technical Science at the Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. He worked eight years in the nuclear power industry. 1969 and 1970 in the USA at the Argonne National Laboratory in the Reactor Analysis and Safety Division and from 1971 till 1977 in Germany for Interatom in the Sodium Cooled Fast Breeder Reactor Program. Subsequently he worked 22 years in Unilever's Consumer Goods and Specialty Chemicals businesses; he held several operational and strategic management positions, ranging from Plant Manager to Senior Vice President Technical, responsible for a global network of 45 factories. Since 2000 he has his own company Syntelligens and his activities concentrate on teaching, coaching and consulting in how to explore and exploit self-organization and synergy in complex business systems. He teaches the courses Operations Management, Complexity & Organization, Organization Development and Change and Organizational Innovation in the MBA Program of Webster University, He is a member of the European Chaos/Complexity in Organizations Network (ECCON). ECCON is an initiative of the Dutch Chaos Forum Foundation (http://www.chaosforum.com). This foundation aims at stimulating the use of Chaos and Complexity in organizations. ECCON in particular aims at connecting scientists of various academic disciplines who wish to develop, execute and review research that is exploring the fields of Chaos and Complexity and its use in organizations. He is a member of the Think Tank of the Yellow Fellow Foundation (http://www.yellow-fellow.com ), which aim it is to explore how abstract art can serve as an inspiration source for leadership and innovation in organizations and in society at large. |
